Today, CSDA, together with over 200 California special districts and partner organizations, sent California’s 52 Congressional Representatives and two U.S. Senators a coalition letter highlighting the growing coalition of support behind H.R. 7525. In addition to individual special districts, the coalition included local government partners, community organizations, businesses, and the following statewide organizations:

  • Mosquito and Vector Control Association of California
  • California Association of Local Agency Formation Commissions
  • California Association of Public Cemeteries
  • California Association of Recreation and Park Districts
  • California Municipal Utilities Association
  • California Rural Water Association

Eleven members of Congress have already formally cosponsored the H.R. 7525. Ask or thank your Congressional Representative through social media, download a sample support letter, and sign-on to CSDA’s coalition at csda.net/GrantAccessibility.

CSDA would like to thank the five California Congressional Representatives who have already formally cosponsored H.R. 7525. You can find the current list of cosponsors here at Congress.gov. CSDA encourages all special districts to contact your Representative and post to social media thanking those who have cosponsored and urging those who have not yet cosponsored to do so.

The following California Congressional Representatives’ cosponsorship was formally recorded as of submission of this article:

Looking ahead, the sponsors of H.R. 7525, along with Oversight and Accountability Committee staff, will continue to work with House leadership to identify a suitable date for the legislation to be considered on the House floor. In the meantime, special districts are encouraged to continue to reach out to their House delegation members to urge them to cosponsor the bill.
