The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle)
has announced that “Due to the high volume of questions that were submitted, extra time is necessary to provide responses. The grant application due date has been extended to allow additional time for applicants to review questions and answers. The grant application due date has been extended to May 2, 2023.”

CalRecycle administers the Organics Grant Program to provide opportunities to further the purposes of the California Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32) and lower overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by expanding existing capacity or establishing new facilities in California to reduce the amount of California-generated green materials, food materials, or alternative daily cover (ADC) being sent to landfills.

The Organics Grant Program is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing GHG emissions. California Climate Investments projects include affordable housing, renewable energy, public transportation, zero-emission vehicles, environmental restoration, more sustainable agriculture, recycling, and much more.  At least 35 percent of these investments are located within and benefiting residents of disadvantaged communities, low-income communities, and low-income households across California.
