This is your weekly grant opportunities update from The National Special Districts Coalition. Special districts are either eligible to apply directly, or able to partner with a qualifying entity to apply for any of the grants listed.

 

Department of Health and Human Services

FY 2022 Drug-Free Communities Support Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program aims to establish and strengthen collaboration to support the efforts of community coalitions working to prevent youth substance use. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Community-based coalitions addressing youth substance use that have not yet received an award through this program. Coalitions may be comprised of state, local, territorial, and Tribal governments, nonprofits, Tribal organizations, school districts, and institutions of higher education.

WHEN'S IT DUE? April 14, 2022

 

Department of Health and Human Services

FY 2022 Targeted Capacity Expansion Special Projects

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program implements targeted strategies for the provision of substance use disorder or co-occurring disorder harm reduction, treatment, and/or recovery support services to support an under-resourced population or unmet need identified by the community. WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State and local governments, federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribes, tribal organizations, urban Indian organizations, and consortia of tribes or tribal organizations, public or private universities and colleges, and community- and faith-based organizations

FY 2022 First Responders-Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide resources to first responders and members of other key community sectors to carry and administer approved drugs and devices for emergency reversal of known or suspected opioid overdose. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? States, federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native Tribes, Tribal organizations, and local governmental entities

FY 2022 Concentrating Solar-Thermal Power Research, Development, and Demonstration Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program will invest in innovative research, development, and demonstration that accelerates the large-scale development and deployment of solar technology to support an equitable transition to a decarbonized electricity system by 2035 and decarbonized energy sector by 2050. Projects selected through this program will focus on lowering the cost of concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP) technologies and creating new market opportunities for the industry. Click here for more information.

FY 2022 Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program aims to strengthen U.S. rural and agricultural communities by building markets and investing in America's climate-smart farmers, ranchers, and forest owners. Through this program, the funding agency will support the production and marketing of climate-smart commodities through a set of pilot projects that provide voluntary incentives to implement climate-smart production practices, activities, and systems on working lands. Click here for more information.

Department of Transportation

FY 2022 High Priority-Commercial Motor Vehicle Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support innovative and impactful projects that reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. Awards are available to support enforcement projects that improve compliance with regulations at the state, local government, and national levels, increase public awareness, and develop new technologies to reduce the number of and rate of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes. Click here for more information.
