Monterey County Mosquito Abatement District Celebrates New Facility Funded Through CSDA Finance Corporation

In April, the Monterey County Mosquito Abatement District (MCMAD) www.montereycountymosquito.com celebrated a major milestone with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at their new state-of-the-art administration and operations facility in Salinas. Over 100 guests, including prominent government officials and representatives from neighboring mosquito districts, were in attendance to celebrate the occasion. The event provided an opportunity for guests to take a tour of the new facility and learn about the vital services that MCMAD provides to northern Monterey County.

Thanks to a $5 million loan facilitated by CSDA Finance Corporation, MCMAD was able to construct the new facility, which features ample storage space for all-terrain vehicles, drones, pesticides, and other essential tools for carrying out the district’s mission. The facility also includes housing for the district’s mosquito fish program.

MCMAD’s new location has inspired the district to adopt a new approach to community outreach and education programs, which will enhance their ability to serve the public.

District manager Ken Klemme praised the financing process facilitated by CSDA Finance Corporation, noting that it was a seamless and straightforward experience.

Overall, the new MCMAD facility represents a significant investment in the health and wellbeing of the community, and the district’s commitment to public service.
