2026 Mid-Year Legislative Report

The California State Legislature’s Summer Recess, beginning upon adjournment on July 2, 2026, marks the deadline for each house to pass bills out of their respective policy committees. The Legislature will return on August 3, 2026, and session will end August 31, 2026.

In the second year of the 2025-2026 Legislative Session, the California State Legislature introduced and CSDA reviewed 2,178 measures. CSDA’s Legislative Committee adopted positions on 1,475 bills and other measures, including 235 priority positions, such as “support” and “oppose”.
