New_Laws_image.pngEvery year, the State Legislature passes hundreds of new laws and the court system renders rulings on hundreds of old laws. CSDA’s New Laws of 2020 publication serves as a reference for special districts trying to keep up with the laws that affect their important work.

CSDA’s biggest advocacy efforts in 2019 centered around three key themes:

  • Blocking mandates and saving special districts money
  • Protecting and enhancing local revenues
  • Preventing unnecessary Public Records Act costs

Learn more about these advocacy highlights by downloading CSDA’s New Laws of 2020 publication. Find an overview of the more than 100 bills affecting special districts that CSDA actively lobbied in 2019, as well as short white papers covering some of the most significant new laws. Finally, because many of the laws special districts must follow are rendered in court rooms, see our overview of court cases in which CSDA engaged through amicus briefs on behalf of special districts.
