The California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission (CDIAC) provides informatoin, education and technical assistance on debt issuance and public fund investments to local agencies and public finance professionals. CDIAC also serves as the State's clearinghouse for public debt issuance information.

The Local Agency Investment Guidelines is intended as an interpretative document to aid local officals in their efforts to implement new laws. In December 2006, CDIAC staff conveneed a working group of public- and private-sector professionals to revise and update its recommendations concerning local agency investing. Each year CDIAC staff, with support from public- and private-sector professionals, update the Guidelines.
