Webinar: Surplus Land Act Developments

Presenter: Austin Cho, Downey Brand. LLP With its overhaul in 2019 by Assembly Bill 1486 (Ting), the Surplus Land Act added new substantive and procedural requirements for the disposition of local agency-owned land in California. Subsequent statutory amendments, guideline updates by the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), and recent case law have further refined the scope of the SLA, its various exemptions, and its enforcement. For special districts, cities, counties, and joint powers authorities, keeping up with these developments is critical to ensuring compliance. Webinar: Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Supervisors

Webinar: Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Non-Supervisors

Presenter: David Fleishman, Richards Watson Gershon Under Senate Bill 1343, passed in 2018, California employers with five or more employees must provide at least one hour of training and education regarding sexual harassment, abusive conduct and harassment based on gender to all employees within six months of assuming their role, and every two years thereafter. SB 1343 also includes temporary and seasonal employees, who must be trained within 30 days of their hiring or 100 hours worked, whichever is first. This training must be consistent with what is provided to other employees. The requirement for seasonal and temporary workers began on January 1, 2020. This training, via webinar will satisfy SB 1343 requirements. Webinar: Ethics AB 1234 Compliance Training

Presenter: Gary Bell, Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley PC State law requires local agency officials – including members of legislative bodies, department heads or other similar administrative officers, and employees designated in local conflict of interest codes – to complete two hours of ethics training within the first year of service. Then, every local agency official must receive at least two hours of training in general ethics principles and ethics laws relevant to his or her public service every two years thereafter. This training satisfies these requirements by covering various ethics topics, including a discussion of the Ralph M.
