Department of Agriculture

FY 2024 Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations (WFPO) Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to address resource concerns due to erosion, floodwater, and sediment, and to provide for improved utilization of land and water resources. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Local governments, state governments, units of the federal government, and federally recognized tribes.

FY 2024 Watershed Rehabilitation Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to help project sponsors rehabilitate aging dams that are reaching the end of their design life and/or no longer meet federal or state standards. NRCS provides technical and financial assistance to local project sponsors to rehabilitate aging dams that protect lives and property, and infrastructure. Click here for more information.

FY 2023 Disaster Supplemental Program 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to promote innovation and competitiveness and prepare U.S. regions for

growth and success in the worldwide economy. Awards will be provided for investments in regions experiencing severe economic distress or other economic harm resulting from Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Fiona, and of wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022. WHO'S ELIGIBLE? District organizations of economic development districts (EDDs) designated by the funding agency; Indian tribes or consortia of tribes; states, counties, cities, or other political subdivisions of a state; institutions of higher education or consortia of institutions of higher education; and public or private nonprofit organizations or associations.

FY 2023/2024 WaterSMART: Large-Scale Water Recycling Projects

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide funding for water recycling projects that have a total project cost greater than or equal to $500 million. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? States, Indian Tribes, municipalities, irrigation districts, water districts, wastewater districts, and any state, regional, or local authority. with water or power delivery authority. All applicants must be located in the Western United States.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $180 million

WHEN'S IT DUE? November 21, 2023; March 29, 2024; September 30, 2024

Department of the Interior

FY 2024 Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to encourage cooperative conservation, restoration, research, and management of the fish and wildlife resources and their habitats in the Great Lakes Basin. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? States, local governments, special district governments, independent school districts, institutions of higher education, Native American tribal governments, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit organizations and small businesses.

National Endowment for the Arts

FY 2025 NEA Big Read 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support organizations across the country in hosting dynamic communitywide reading programs that broaden people's understanding of themselves and their neighbors through the power of a shared reading experience. Click here for more information.  

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Nonprofit organizations, divisions of state, local or tribal government, and tax-exempt public libraries. If the applicant itself is not itself a library, it must partner with a community library.
