The National Special Districts Coalition provides weekly highlights for CSDA Members on newly-opened federal grant opportunities, as curated by The Ferguson Group (TFG). Districts pursuing grants but are uncertain of their options may complete NSDC’s Project Idea Portal for a connection directly to TFG. This week’s selection of new grant opportunities include:

Department of Agriculture

FY 2024 Western Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center Annual Grant Program  

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to reduce the risks that pests and pest management practices pose to people, the environment, and the economy of the western United States by supporting the development and adoption of integrated pest management (IPM). WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State, local, and tribal governments, non-profits, academic institutions, consortia, businesses, and commodity organizations

FY 2023 Save America’s Treasures (SAT) Grants: Collection Grants   

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide preservation and/or conservation assistance to nationally significant historic properties and collections that convey the nation’s rich heritage to future generations. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? States, local governments, special district governments, independent school districts, federal agencies, private institutions of higher education, nonprofits, and federally recognized Native American tribal governments and organizations, including Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiian organizations

FY 2023 Save America’s Treasures (SAT) Grants: Historic Preservation Fund (Part B)  

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program helps provide preservation and/or conservation assistance to nationally significant historic properties and collections that convey the nation’s rich heritage to future generations. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State governments; county, city, township, or special district governments; independent school districts; public and state-owned institutions of higher education; Native American tribal governments and organizations; nonprofit organizations and federal agencies 

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $26.5 million

Department of Transportation

FY 2024 Rail Vehicle Replacement Program 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support capital projects that replace rail rolling stock. Specifically, awards will help renew America's transit systems, advance racial equity, connect communities, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Click here for more information.

Environmental Protection Agency

FY 2023 Wetland Program Development Grants (WPDGs) Region 9  

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to increase the quantity and quality of wetlands in the U.S. by conserving and restoring wetland acreage and improving wetland conditions. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants include states, territories, tribes, local government agencies, colleges and universities that are agencies of a state, interstate agencies, and intertribal consortia. Projects must be performed within the funding agency's Region 9, specifically Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, federally recognized Tribes, as well as in the U.S. territories of Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $3,292,443
