The National Special Districts Coalition provides weekly highlights for CSDA Members on newly-opened federal grant opportunities, as curated by The Ferguson Group (TFG). Districts pursuing grants but are uncertain of their options may complete NSDC’s Project Idea Portal for a connection directly to TFG. This week’s selection of new grant opportunities include:

Department of Commerce

FY 2023 NOAA Climate Resilience Regional Challenge

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to catalyze equitable adaptation through regional scale collaboration and implementation of adaptation actions that will reduce future damage from weather and climate impacts. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Coastal states, territories, or tribes; counties, cities, or other political subdivisions of a coastal state or territory, including special purpose units of government engaged in economic or infrastructure development activities, the District of Columbia, institutions of higher education, and non-profit organizations or associations, including those acting in cooperation with a state, tribal, local or territorial government, regional councils of government and regional planning councils

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $575 million

WHEN'S IT DUE? August 21, 2023 (Letter of Intent), February 13, 2024 (Full Application)

Housing and Urban Development

FY 2023 HOPE IV Main Street Grant 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide support to small communities to assist in the renovation of historic or traditional central business districts or Main Street areas by replacing unused, obsolete, commercial space in publicly or privately owned buildings with affordable housing units. Click here for more information.
