The National Special Districts Coalition provides weekly highlights for CSDA Members on newly-opened federal grant opportunities, as curated by The Ferguson Group (TFG). Department of Energy

FY 2024 Rural Energy for America Program (REAP): Energy Audits (EA) and Renewable Energy Development Assistance (REDA) Grants 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to provide support to eligible organizations to provide energy audits (EAs) and renewable energy development assistance (REDA) to enable agricultural producers and rural small businesses to become more energy efficient and to use renewable energy technologies and resources. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State, tribal and local governments, land-grant colleges and universities or other institutions of higher learning, rural electric cooperatives, public power utilities, Resource Conservation and Development Councils and instrumentalities of local, state, and federal governments

FY 2023 Basic Center Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides emergency shelter and counseling services to runaway and homeless youth, under the age of 18, who have left home without the permission of their parents or guardians; have been forced to leave their home; cannot live safely with a parent, legal guardian, or relative; have no other safe alternative living arrangement; or other homeless youth who might otherwise end up in contact with law enforcement or in the child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems. Click here for more information.

FY 2023 Fisheries Restoration and Irrigation Mitigation Act (FRIMA)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The goal of this program is to provide services that address the needs of minor victims of sex and labor trafficking through a continuum of trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and gender responsive services to ensure their safety, security, and healing and to prevent them from being directed to or involved in the justice system. Click here for more information.
