CSDA Joins Coalition for SB 1383 Organic Waste Funding

Recently, CSDA and joined other stakeholders on a coalition letter to the Chairs of the Calfiornia State Senate and Assembly Budget Committees in support of Governor Gavin Newsom’s January State Budget proposal to protect the $345 million from FY 21-22 and FY 22-23 for SB 1383 Implementation Grants and the Organic Waste Infrastructure Program.

State funding is critical to support local government compliance with SB 1383 and to spur much-needed organic waste recycling infrastructure development. In addition to most cities and counties, several dozen community services districts and sanitation districts responsible for solid waste collection services are affected by SB 1383.
