The California Department of Insurance is the consumer protection agency for the nation's largest insurance marketplace and safeguards all of the state’s consumers by regulating the insurance industry. Under the Commissioner’s direction, the Department uses its authority to protect Californians from insurance rates that are excessive, inadequate, or unfairly discriminatory, oversee insurer solvency to pay claims, set standards for agents and broker licensing, perform market conduct reviews of insurance companies, resolve consumer complaints, and investigate and prosecute insurance fraud.

Little Hoover Commission Executive Director Rarick will lead a breakout session entitled, “Putting infrastructure funding to work: Little Hoover Commission’s recommendations for improving state permitting for local projects.” It will focus on improving state permitting for local climate adaptation projects as recommended in Little Hoover Commission Report #238 of June 2017. With billions of dollars in state and federal infrastructure dollars coming available due to recent legislative packages, CSDA is promoting the building of the most beneficial projects in the most efficient manner.
