This is your weekly grant opportunities update from The National Special Districts Coalition. Special districts are either eligible to apply directly, or able to partner with a qualifying entity to apply for any of the grants listed.

 

 

 

New Grant Opportunities

 

Department of Agriculture

FY 2022 Farm to School Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program helps new farm to school programs get started or expand existing efforts to increase the availability of local foods in schools. Funds may support training, planning, and developing partnerships, to creating new menu items, establishing supply chains, offering taste tests to children, purchasing equipment, planting school gardens, and organizing field trips to agricultural operations. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State agencies, local agencies, tribal organizations, agricultural producers or groups of agricultural producers, nonprofit entities, and institutions, including schools, school districts that operate the National School Lunch and/or Breakfast Program(s), and non-school based institutions that have an agreement with the State agency to operate Child and Adult Care Food Program and/or Summer Service Food Program

WHEN'S IT DUE? January 10, 2022

 

Department of Agriculture

FY 2022 Community Facilities Direct Loan and Grant Program 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. Projects supported through this program must demonstrate substantial community support, and facilities must serve the rural area where they are or will be located. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Public bodies, community-based nonprofit corporations, and federally recognized tribes

WHEN'S IT DUE? Rolling through September 30, 2022

 

Department of Agriculture

FY 2022 Economic Impact Initiative Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support the development of essential community facilities in rural communities with extreme unemployment and severe economic depression. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Public bodies, community-based nonprofit corporations, and federally recognized tribes

WHEN'S IT DUE? Rolling through September 30, 2022

 

Department of Agriculture

FY 2022 Rural eConnectivity Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program furnishes loans and grants to provide funds for the costs of construction, improvement, or acquisition of facilities and equipment needed to provide broadband service in eligible rural areas. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, cooperatives or mutual organizations, states, territories, local governments, and tribal governments

WHEN'S IT DUE? February 22, 2022

 

National Science Foundation

FY 2022 Broadening Participation in Engineering

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program supports the development of a diverse and well-prepared engineering workforce, as well as supporting innovative approaches to building capacity through inclusivity and equity within the the engineering academic experience. The program focuses on the inclusion of all traditionally underserved populations in engineering. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, for-profit organizations, and state and local governments, including state educational offices or organizations and local school districts

WHEN'S IT DUE? January 28, 2022 and November 16, 2022

 

National Endowment for the Arts

FY 2022 Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Program: Domestic Indemnity 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program helps indemnify art and artifact collections on exhibitions in the United States to minimize the costs of insuring exhibitions. Program funding is available to cover objects owned by public and private collections while on exhibition. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Nonprofit organizations and governmental units

WHEN'S IT DUE? December 13, 2021 and June 13, 2022

 

National Endowment for the Arts

FY 2022 Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Program: International Indemnity 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program helps indemnify art and artifact materials being brought to the United States from abroad or objects in the United States being sent abroad to minimize the costs of insuring exhibitions. Program funding is available to cover objects owned by public and private collections while on exhibition. Click here for more information.
