FY 2022 WaterSMART Drought Response Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program supports a proactive approach to drought by providing assistance to water managers to develop and update comprehensive drought plans and implement projects that will build long-term resiliency to drought. Eligible tasks include increasing the reliability of water supplies through infrastructure improvements, and improving water management through decision support tools, modeling, and measurement.

States, tribes, irrigation districts, water districts, and other organizations with water or power delivery authority located in the Western United States, as well as nonprofit conservation organizations working in partnership with the entities listed above.

FY 2022 WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program funds projects which seek to conserve and use water more efficiently; increase the production of renewable energy; mitigate conflict risk in areas at a high risk of future water conflict; enable farmers to make additional on-farm improvements in the future; and accomplish other benefits that contribute to sustainability in the western United States. FY 2022 WaterSMART Environmental Water Resources Projects

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This new category of funding supports projects focused on environmental benefits and that have been developed as part of a collaborative process to help carry out an established strategy to increase the reliability of water resources. Eligible projects include water conservation and efficiency projects that result in quantifiable and sustained water savings and benefit ecological values; water management or infrastructure improvements to mitigate drought-related impacts to ecological values; and watershed management or restoration projects benefitting ecological values that have a nexus to water resources or water resources management. FY 2022 Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program provides loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations (MDOs) to: 1) help microenterprises startup and grow through a Rural Microloan Revolving Loan Fund, and 2) provide training and technical assistance to microloan borrowers and micro entrepreneurs. FY 2022 Marine Debris Removal

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program supports the development and implementation of locally driven marine debris assessment, removal, and prevention projects that benefit coastal habitat, waterways, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) trust resources. Click here for more information.

FY 2021 Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program: Renewal 

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program supports public housing authorities (PHAs) to support the salaries and training needs of FSS program coordinators who assist participating families receiving housing assistance through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV/PBV) and Public Housing (PH) programs. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE?
Public housing authorities (PHAs) that are currently administering an FSS program and were funded in FY 2018, 2019, and/or 2020.

Environmental Protection Agency
FY 2021 Superfund Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) Program 

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
The purpose of this program is to allow communities to better understand what is going on at Superfund sites, which are sites contaminated due to hazardous waste being dumped, left out in the open, or otherwise improperly managed. These sites include manufacturing facilities, processing plants, landfills, and mining sites. The program will make awards available to communities to pay for advisors who will interpret and explain site reports and conditions, as well as proposed cleanup plans and decisions. Click here for more information.

Groups incorporated for the purpose of participating in decision-making at the applicable superfund site.

FY 2022 Brownfields Job Training Grants  

WHAT DOES IT FUND?
This program funds Brownfields Job Training programs that recruit, train, and place local, unemployed and under-employed residents with the skills needed to secure full-time employment in the environmental field. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE?
Units of local government, land clearance authorities, state governments, regional councils, redevelopment agencies sectioned by a state, Native American Indian tribal governments, Alaskan Native Regional Corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
