As a part of their “Next-Stop to Zero” campaign, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) will be hosting a free webinar August 5 from 11:00am to 12:30pm that will go over requirements, incentive programs, and discussion groups on ZEV conversion that will be required under the Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulations. This webinar series will follow CARB’s August 1, 2026 deadline to finalize its latest amendments to the ACF ZEV mandate on medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles.
CSDA has advocated for categorical exemptions for vehicles needed to support emergency response, as well as greater flexibility in general throughout the ACF regulatory process. CARB has carried out one 45-day comment period and two 15-day comment periods over the last 12 months, which you can read more about here. The most recent draft of the ACF regulations made available for public comment may require any entity that contracts with a state or local government to also comply with the ACF regulations.
According to the CARB webinar announcement, it will feature presentations and interactive roundtable discussions with various subject matter experts, incentive and funding program representatives, real-world fleet managers undertaking medium and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicle adoption, and CARB staff.
The webinar will provide an introduction to adopting medium- and heavy-duty ZEVs. Attendees will learn about how telematics data can support fleet planning and more. Attendees will also hear real-world case studies of fleets that have adopted zero-emission technologies. Experts from Cal Fleet Advisor and other organizations will share their practical insights and lessons learned to help fleets evaluate and implement zero-emission technologies.
CARB must submit the ACF regulations to the Office of Administrative Law for Review by August 1. Shortly following the release of this draft for public comment CARB also issued a “guidance” to the ACF regulations. You can read CSDA’s coalition letter that was submitted to CARB here.
