FY 2026 Coastal Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to conserve and restore habitat for fish and wildlife by supporting voluntary, locally led conservation projects in coastal watersheds across the United States and its territories. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are local government, academic institutions, Native American tribes, non-profits, private sector, schools/school districts, state government, and Tribal organizations/institutions.

FY 2025 Historic Preservation Fund Save America’s Treasures (SAT) Collection Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support museums, libraries, archives, and all other collecting institutions in addressing conservation needs of nationally significant collections including physical conservation, care, and collections management. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are states, local governments, special district governments, independent school districts, institutions of higher education, nonprofits, federally recognized Native American tribal governments and organizations, including Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiian organizations, and certain federal agencies.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $25.5 million

FY 2025 Historic Preservation Fund Save America's Treasures (SAT) Preservation Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides funding for preservation and rehabilitation work on nationally significant historic properties. This program supports community-based preservation work on the nation's most important historic structures and sites. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants include state governments, county and city or township governments, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education, federally recognized Native American tribal governments and tribal organizations, and nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $25.5 million

FY 2025-2026 Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) Semiquincentennial Grants

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support the physical preservation of a broad variety of cultural resources associated with the founding of America as a nation in commemoration of the country's semiquincentennial, or 250th anniversary of founding. Funding will support pre-preservation and preservation projects. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are state governments; local governments, including county, city, and township governments; public, state-controlled, private, and nonprofit institutions of higher education; federally recognized Native American tribal governments, Alaskan Natives, and Native Hawaiian organizations; Native American tribal organizations; and nonprofit organizations with or without 501(c)(3) status.

FY 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides critically needed resources that equip and train emergency personnel to recognize standards, enhance operational efficiencies, foster interoperability, and support community resilience. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants are fire departments, non-affiliated emergency medical services organizations, and state fire training academies.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $291.6 million

FY 2025 Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides funding to strengthen community fire prevention programs and advance firefighter safety research. Two funding tracks are available: the Fire Prevention and Safety Activity (FP&S), which supports public education and risk reduction projects targeting high-risk populations, and the Research and Development Activity (R&D), which funds clinical, technology, and principal investigator (PI)-led studies aimed at reducing firefighter fatalities and injuries. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants include fire departments, national and local interest organizations, academic institutions, and public health and injury prevention entities.

FY 2025 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This purpose of this program is to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to increase the number of trained, frontline firefighters to help communities meet industry minimum standards and attain 24-hour staffing to provide adequate fire protection from fire and fire-related hazards, and to fulfill traditional missions of fire departments. The program supports both Hiring Activities and Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Activities. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Eligible applicants include fire departments and national, state, local, tribal, and nonprofit organizations representing the interests of volunteer firefighters.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $324 million

FY 2026 High Priority Commercial Motor Vehicle Grant Program (HP-CMV)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to is to support, enrich, and evaluate Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) safety programs and to target unsafe driving of CMVs and non–CMVs in areas identified as high risk crash corridors, promote the safe and secure movement of hazardous materials, improve safety of transportation of goods and passengers in foreign commerce, demonstrate new technologies to improve CMV safety, support participation in the Performance Registration Information Systems Management (PRISM) program, support safety data improvement projects, and increase public awareness and education on CMV safety. Click here for more information.

FY 2026 Pipeline Emergency Response Grant (PERG)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support training of emergency responders in high-consequence areas (HCAs) to protect people, property, and the environment from accidents involving gas or hazardous liquid pipelines. Funding will support the provision of direct or web-based training to individuals with statutory responsibility to respond to pipeline incidents in HCAs. Click here for more information.
