Funding Eligibility
Special districts are eligible sub-applicants for HMA. However, to be eligible a district must:
1. Be an approved participant in a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan;
2. Have an approved plan of their own; or,
3. If not part of a Hazard Mitigation Plan, be sponsored by a local government agency those does have an approved plan.
Application Funding
This year there is $660 million available for the FMA and BRIC programs combined:
- $160 million available in funding for FMA
- $500 million for BRIC.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants must apply for funding using the new FEMA Grants Outcome (FEMA GO), which is now the management system for FMA and BRIC.
Application Deadline
The application period opened on September 30, 2020. Applications must be received in the FEMA GO Portal by January 29, 2021, at 3 p.m. ET. Applications received by FEMA GO after this date will not be considered for funding.
