On May 31st, the CSDA Board of Directors unanimously approved a chapter affiliation agreement with the newly expanded Sonoma-Napa Bi-County Special Districts Association (SNBCSDA). The Sonoma Chapter had existed for the past two years, but just recently extended an invitation to Napa Members to join them.

In addition to the new Sonoma-Napa Chapter, there are six other CSDA Affiliated Chapters in CSDA’s Bay Area Network, representing Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Marin, Santa Clara and Solano Counties, as well as twenty-six Chapters Statewide.

CSDA-affiliated chapters provide a space for networking with fellow special districts, discussing policy issues, and sharing best practices. Members hear directly from local leaders and discuss regional approaches. The expansion of the Sonoma Chapter to include Napa County will allow Napa districts to additionally benefit from and contribute to shared relationships, knowledge, and good governance.

Furthermore, affiliation with CSDA gives chapter members access to top notch speakers, professional development trainings, communication platforms, and updates on legislation and advocacy programs in Sacramento and through the National Special Districts Coalition in D.C.

CSDA is committed to establishing connections with special districts throughout California with its District Networks program and is pleased to welcome Napa County special districts to the fold.

The first meeting for the new Sonoma-Napa Bi-County Special Districts Association will be held virtually on Thursday, June 25th from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and will take place quarterly. All special district representatives serving Sonoma and Napa Counties are invited to attend. To receive additional meeting information, to get more engaged in chapter leadership, or if you just want to learn more, email CSDA Public Affairs Field Coordinator Colleen Haley at colleenh@csda.net.
