WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program funds innovative messaging campaigns that raise awareness of the critical and urgent need to plan, grow, and manage urban forests. The campaign should encourage stewardship of urban forests by demonstrating the value its natural resource services contribute to a community’s viability, resiliency, and well-being. FY 2022 INvestments Supporting Partnerships in Recovery Ecosystems (INSPIRE) Initiative

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program helps Appalachian communities and regions that have been affected by the substance use crisis by funding projects that integrate multiple economic development systems, evidence-based or promising substance use disorder (SUD) models and practices, and resources in support of implementing existing economic development strategic plans that create pathways to employment. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Local development districts, Native American Tribes, states, counties cities and other subdivisions of a state, institutions of higher education, public and private nonprofits, and consortia of eligible applicants. Projects must benefit the Appalachian region.

FY 2022 Threatened and Endangered Species Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of the program is to conserve and recover federally-listed and Bureau sensitive animal and plant species and their habitat on public lands. The program is looking for projects that are national or regional in scope or projects that will result in or facilitate national implementation of tangible on the ground actions that will improve species populations (numbers, representation, or resilience) or reduce population level threats.
