As part of our ongoing support related to COVID-19, CSDA is closely monitoring financial assistance options available to special districts and actively working to develop additional solutions. To that end, CSDA has developed a Financial Resources Overview document outlining relevant financial options and programs available to special districts confronting COVID-19.
The financial assistance options and programs information is available as part of an addendum to our COVID-19 FAQ document, and will be updated regularly.
Financial options available to special districts range from utilizing internal reserves to securing short-term revenue anticipation notes to accessing federal assistance programs. CSDA is fighting to expand these options at the state and federal level and encourages all special districts to join our efforts by visiting csda.net/take-action and downloading a sample letter to send Congress.
Please do not hesitate to contact the CSDA Finance Corporation or CSDA staff with questions about financial assistance.
CSDA also conducted a webinar Tuesday, May 5 to assist districts with budgeting during the COVID-19 crisis. Representatives from Management Partners presented on how to develop and present financial forecasts to the elected officials and the public. This webinar will be offered free on-demand to CSDA members by May 11.
Successfully managing the fiscal challenges ahead will enable districts to continue providing the specialized, local services that set districts apart. CSDA is proud to help by providing members with the resources necessary to best serve their communities.
