Department of Agriculture

FY 2025 Rural Housing Preservation Grant

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support low- and very low-income homeowners in repairing and rehabilitating their homes in rural areas. This program is part of the funding agency’s Housing Preservation Grant program. This program also assists rental property owners and cooperative housing complexes in repairing and rehabilitating their units if they agree to make such units available to low- and very low-income persons. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State and local governments, nonprofit organizations, federally recognized Native American tribal governments, Native American tribal organizations, and faith-based and community organizations are eligible. Projects must occur in rural areas and towns with 20,000 or fewer people.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $13.1 million

WHEN IS IT DUE? September 4, 2025

Department of Homeland Security

FY 2025 Port Security Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to strengthen port-wide risk management and protect critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies. Funding will support activities associated with implementing Area Maritime Security Plans (AMSP), Facility Security Plans (FSPs), Vessel Security Plans (VSPs), and other port-wide risk management efforts. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Entities subject to an area maritime security plan, including port authorities, facility operators, and state, local, and territorial government agencies

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $90 million

Department of Homeland Security

FY 2025 State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to strengthen the cybersecurity practices and resilience of state, local, and territorial (SLT) governments. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? The Governor-designated SLCGP State Administrative Agency (SAA) is the only entity eligible to submit SLCGP applications to DHS. Eligible subrecipients include local governments.

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $91.75 million

WHEN IS IT DUE? August 15, 2025

Department of Homeland Security

FY 2025 Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program provides funds to public transit agencies to protect critical surface transportation infrastructure and the traveling public from acts of terrorism. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Passenger rail, intra-city bus, and ferry systems listed by the funding agency

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $83.7 million

WHEN IS IT DUE? August 15, 2025

Department of Transportation

FY 2025 Rural and Tribal Assistance Pilot Program (Updated)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to help applicants develop transportation infrastructure projects in rural and tribal communities that will qualify for federal funding and financing programs for additional development phase activities or construction. Funding will support either the hiring of staff or the procurement of expert firms to provide financial, technical, and legal assistance with project-related planning and design phase activities. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Rural local governments or political subdivisions, states, federally recognized tribes, and the Department of Hawaiian Homelands

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $54.2 million

WHEN IS IT DUE? October 8, 2025

Environmental Protection Agency

FY 2025 Midsize and Large Drinking Water System Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to support infrastructure projects that increase the resilience of midsize and large drinking water systems to natural hazards, extreme weather events, and that reduce cybersecurity threats. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Public water systems that serve a population of 10,000 people or more

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $9.5 million
