CSDA CEO Neil McCormick and I are flying back to Sacramento following a successful fly-in with nine partner states from the National Special District Coalition and we are excited to report that H.R. 7525, the Special District Grant Accessibility Act, is now scheduled to be considered on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives under suspension of the rules on the afternoon of Monday, May 6.  The suspension calendar is typically reserved for non-controversial bills; in order to pass, suspension measures must receive the support of at least two-thirds of the House.

Based on its 38-2 passage out of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and strong-bipartisan support, including 12 Cosponsors from the California Congressional Delegation, the measure is well positioned for this big step forward in the process for passing this historic legislation to formally define special districts in federal law for the first time.
