On August 25, the CSDA Board of Directors approved an affiliation agreement with the Sacramento Area Chapter of CSDA. CSDA celebrates the Sacramento Chapter as its 30th affiliated Chapter.
This newly formed chapter is the culmination of multiple years of local leadership. Conversations resumed in earnest last October and continued with three formation meetings in 2026. Through this process, the Chapter adopted bylaws, elected officers, and approved the affiliation agreement with CSDA.
The formation committee elected the following special district officials as the inaugural officers for two-year terms:
- President: Rich Lozano, Board Director, Cosumnes CSDA
- Vice President: Patrick Larkin, General Manager, Cordova Recreation and Park District
- Secretary: Belinda Ellis, District Manager, Galt-Arno Cemetery District
- Treasurer: Scott Brown, General Manager, Reclamation District 1000
The new Chapter held a small celebration at the CSDA Annual Conference to commemorate the creation of the new Chapter and to discuss its future.
Specifically, the Chapter will host its first meeting on Thursday, September 3rd, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Galt-Arno Cemetery District. All Sacramento area CSDA member districts are invited to attend. An annual meeting is planned for the first week of November at a date, time and location to be determined.
