The National Special Districts Coalition provides weekly highlights for CSDA Members on newly-opened federal grant opportunities, as curated by The Ferguson Group (TFG). New Grant Opportunities

Army Corps of Engineers

FY 2023 Corps Water Infrastructure Financing Program 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to enable local investment in infrastructure projects that enhance community resilience to flooding, promote economic prosperity, and improve environmental quality. Through the CWIFP, USACE will accelerate non-federal investments in water resources infrastructure by providing long-term, low-cost loans to creditworthy borrowers. Click here for more information.

FY 2023 Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP)

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program promotes coordination of National Resource Conservation Service conservation activities with partners that offer value-added contributions to expand the collective ability to address on-farm, watershed, and regional natural resource concerns. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Local and state governments, agricultural or silvicultural producer associations, Indian tribes, farmer cooperatives, water districts, municipal water or wastewater treatment entities, institutions of higher education, conservation districts, and other qualified organizations

FY 2023 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Joint Office of Energy and Transportation Ride and Drive Electric Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program will address discrete barriers to a future where everyone can ride and drive electric. Specifically, this program will advance the goal of building a national network of EV chargers for all Americans by supporting EV charging reliability, resiliency, equity, and workforce development. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State and local governmental entities, domestic institutions of higher education, forprofit entities, nonprofit entities, and Indian tribes

Department of Labor

FY 2023/2024 Critical Sector Job Quality Grants  

WHAT DOES IT FUND? The purpose of this program is to expand job quality in the care, climate resiliency, and hospitality sectors. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? State or local governments, state registered apprenticeship agencies, labor unions and organizations, labor management partnerships, worker centers and organizations, workforce intermediaries, state and local workforce development boards, Native American tribal governments, education/training providers, industry-based intermediaries and industry associations, and national of community-based nonprofits

TOTAL FUNDING AMOUNT? $15 million

WHEN'S IT DUE? July 17, 2023 (first round), July 1, 2024 (second round)

Department of Transportation

FY 2023 Passenger Ferry Grant Program

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program will improve existing passenger ferry services, establish new ferry services, and repair and modernize ferry boats, terminals, and related facilities and equipment. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Designated recipients of Section 5307 funds, states or regional authorities, and direct recipients of the Federal Transit Administration’s Urbanized Area Formula Grants that operate a public ferry system in an urbanized area.

FY 2023 Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) Program Rural Project Initiative

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program improves transportation infrastructure in rural communities by providing low-cost, fixed-rate, long-term loans for critical infrastructure projects. This program is intended to support transportation infrastructure that will improve the economy and the quality of life in rural areas. Click here for more information.

WHO'S ELIGIBLE? Local and state governments, transit agencies, private entities, special authorities such as government-sponsored corporations, transportation improvement districts, and state infrastructure banks

FY 2023 Of the People: Widening the Path: Connecting Communities Digital Initiative

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program enables libraries, archives, and museums to use Library of Congress digital materials to create projects that center one or more of the following groups: Black, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and/or other communities of color in the United States. FY 2024 National Historical Publications and Records Commissions: Archival Projects 

WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program will promote access to America's historical records to encourage understanding of the nation's democracy, history, and culture. National Archives and Records Administration

FY 2024 Public Engagement with Historical Records
