DMTD Video Contest WinnersOn November 30, the month-long voting period for the 2018 Districts Make the Difference Student Video Contest concluded. It was a close competition, but the votes have been tallied and the winners are:

Heath will receive a $2,000 scholarship as the first-place winner, Jason and Haley will receive a $1,000 scholarship, and Angelina will receive $500 as the third-place winner.

Each of the final five videos showcased the students’ creativity and the many ways special districts make a difference for California’s communities. Watch the winning videos on the Districts Make the Difference website.

Thank you to all the districts that promoted the contest and encouraged participation at each stage of the contest. CSDA would also like to recognize the Alameda County Special Districts Association, Contra Costa Special Districts Association, and Santa Clara County Special Districts Association for holding a local contest in conjunction with the statewide competition.

The annual Districts Make the Difference Student Video Contest is an important opportunity to engage with students in your community and promote the important work and essential services special districts provide.

The 2019 contest will have a slightly different timeline but look for upcoming news about the adjusted schedule. The more you support the contest, the more positive attention special districts receive. Resources to promote the contest will be provided and contest toolkit will be available for all chapters that want to host a local contest. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase how your district makes the difference for your community.
