Pension Reform Committee Examines Hybrid Plans
Thursday, 02 February 2012 11:30
Last week, the Conference Committee on Public Employee Pensions met to discuss hybrid pension plans, hearing from various hybrid system experts regarding the significant factors to be aware of as the state legislature works on a hybrid proposal.

Committee members asked the experts questions on hybrid plans to gain a better understanding of the significant elements to be incorporated and the challenges to implementing a sustainable hybrid plan. Senator Walters requested the governor develop and release detailed language on his 12-point plan. Conference committee Co-Chair Furutani announced that the committee will meet again next month and will focus on outstanding 2-year bills on pension reform and possibly some new proposals.
